Sandy Yoga - Northamptonshire & Buckinghamshire Areas

Yoga is for everyone. Hatha Yoga promotes the attainment of true health and happiness by working with the mind and body in harmony.

Whatever your starting point and wherever you wish to take your yoga journey to, yoga is a non-competitive regime. It aims to enable you to understand your own underlying potential and to realise your natural abilities. Yoga is a life long gift to yourself, opening up the opportunity to attain greater balance, strength and flexibility of mind and body, enriching and empowering you to discover more of your own inner resources and potential.
What Sandy Teaches:

Sandy's teaching is based on the tenets of Hatha Yoga, combined with numerous years of experience as a health professional, both in the hospital and community environments.

Hatha Yoga is the main form of Yoga practised in the West. Hatha Yoga embraces the learning and practice of Patanjali's eight limbs of yoga. Part of this journey incorporates learning to have compassion and respect for others (Yamas), self-restraint (Niyamas), postures (Asanas), breathing exercises (Pranayama), sense withdrawal (Pratyahara), concentration (Dharana), meditation (Dhyana), and contemplation (Samadhi). Yoga practice also incorporates relaxation and visualisation.
Yoga can help everyone!
The meaning of Om
Om defines transcendental balance, the sound that resides in all beings.
Om is a mantra (chant) or the chorus to meditation in yoga.
Om is the sound of harmony. Chanting Om invokes a feeling of harmony and primal vibration at a clear and basic universal level.

The repetition of Om as a mantra in meditation helps clear the mind in a way that transcends other conscious thinking.

The repetition of Om brings together the awareness and elements of breath and mind, taking you to a deeper state of meditation, rising to a more complete and timeless place of consciousness.
